Glad to share about the recent Teachers’ training workshop conducted by The GYM Foundation in Vivekananda Vidyalaya CBSE school, Thiruparaithurai on May 4th, 2024.
With the blessings of Swami Vivekananda, I got an opportunity to take His message on the education pedagogy needed for the younger generation forward, through a Teachers’ training workshop on “Techniques and Practices to motivate students to become good Math Thinkers and Achievers”.
I shared techniques and practices that are learner centric with emphasis on Teacher taking the role of facilitator and a mentor. Learning becomes effective when the pedagogy and the teaching helps the student to learn & grow from his current level to next level. With this as a guiding principle, the workshop focused on sharing techniques & practices that Math teachers can help students navigate from being uninterested to interested in Math, struggling students to become academically good and students who are good in academics to stretch their thinking and become achievers.
It was heart warming to see teachers participating enthusiastically in all the activities and shared insightful feedback on implementing the techniques & practices. The session underlined an important insight, that whatever Curriculum a School follows, there lies a possibility to introduce some effective pedagogy techniques that improves learner’s abilities. Glad to see an open-minded environment where teachers and school management are very keen on bringing out full potential of their school students.
Plans are on way to implement the techniques in the coming academic year.
